This building hasn’t changed in its physical form since I first discovered it more than 20 years ago during the five years attending Esperance Senior High School. The memories of my time spent here haven’t changed, nor has the purpose of this building – it’s still a wooden floored gymnasium. A gym that has played host to many local sporting hero’s, more than a handful of state sporting representatives, the occasional Olympian and four ‘older’ gentleman, Nige, Henna, Jimmi and myself, who failed to trouble the scorers in any serious form of sporting achievment, though that didn’t stop us trying.

You may see an old building, though I look at this image and see a bookmark in time, capturing the years of 1988 – 1992.

So who was the Olympian who attended ESHS during the years mentioned above? I’ll happily provide a matt board print (an image of your choice) to the first person to correctly answer todays quiz question.

She doesn’t have her drivers licence, though she does know how to handle a little horse power. Today I sat down and post processed a few more of the images from my evening spent with Sophie and her family in the Perth Hills.

Water is essential in surviving a day working in the Pilbara, as is the assistance of others from time to time. Accordingly, I would like to extend a big thank-you to Sam and Kevin, members of the Hope Downs Environmental Team, both contributing to an event-free and enjoyable 3 day photography assignment in and around the Hope Downs Mine. Accordingly, this evenings blog post image, showcasing one of the Mine’s dirty and weathered stand pipe’s, is dedicated to you two buggers. I’m still amazed by your commitment to write and review lengthy environmental reports, whilst I was navigating a path through natures wonderland down at Weeli Wolli Springs. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end in awe just thinking about it.

I did offer to do an independent spell check on your most recent report for you Sam. You never can tell when the American spelling of a word will sneak past the bat and make it’s way through to the keeper.

Thanks gents. See you in 6 months.

I was at a crossroad when I captured this image, both spatially and mentally. In both instances, I waited for the little green flashing man to appear before moving along my chosen path.

This image was captured by accident – shooting from the hip, I managed to get more road & footpath and nothing of the elegant young lady riding her bike to the train station across the intersection, which was the focus of my attention. To me, this image is unbalanced, and that’s why I like it. My brain is trained to read from left to right, though I struggled to read this image in this conventional manner, as the stumpy black bollard continually draws my attention back the left of side of the image. Ouch! Does it do the same to you?

Sorry for my lack of posting lately. I managed to flatline for just over 3 weeks! Ooops. I’m back on deck with a full set of tools again, having collected my MacBook Pro from a small bout of surgery to replace a faulty graphics card.
